OUR DAILY HABITS CREATE OUR FUTURE

We know that you're future looks like

➡️ the books you're reading/ the information you're taking in 🤓
➡️ the people you spend the most time with

So although we don't know what the future looks like for us.. we have a pretty clear indication through our daily actions.

If you want better then do better because "if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten "

In short, you must change your habits or stay the same 🤷‍♀️

MEET STRONG GIRL SARAH 🎉

Her greatest achievement with Strong Girls Club is stepping into a gym for the first time in her life 🎉🎉

It is almost Sarah's 1 year anniversary with SGC and she hasn't missed a week.

That is an incredible win!

Not to mention she can now squat and deadlift 70+kg and bench 45kg 💪

This week has been a killer, and many of you are SORE 🔥

Did you know muscle soreness is caused by the breaking down of muscle fibres?

Then they get busy repairing, and growing, then you have fresh shiny bigger and stronger muscles for next time 💪

To help recovery:

➡️Drink PLENTY of water to flush your body. Keep moving, little walks help blood flow and blood flow helps repair.

➡️Magnesium magnesium magnesium.

➡️Carbs !! Carbs carry water to your muscles.

➡️Sleep!! (Sorry nurses)

It will be tempting to not work out because you feel sore, but the best thing you can do for the pain, is show up and move.

Here is just ONE example

Strong Girls has an incredible massage therapist we refer our clients to (and go to ourselves). The massage therapist was sick and had to cancel a session with a client. This client bough her flowers and left them at her front door 🥺 ❤

We have many clients come in early to their sessions to walk Bobbi 🐕 because often our coaches have back to back sessions. One client in particular brings Bobbi treats regularly.

These are small acts, but its the small things that matter the most.

The back story ➡️

I have always been active. I competed in sports for 20 years, and finished at a national level. Exercise and living a healthy lifestyle wasn’t foreign to me.
However, we all have moments in life where we wobble.

I had two beautiful children, I remained active throughout my pregnancies, I was active through the first years of their lives, but, then trauma happened. My best friend was diagnosed and passed from cancer within a 3 month period, leaving behind very small children. It broke me, life as I knew it changed.

I self-medicated to deal will grief. I drank way too much, and I ate foods to find comfort and fill the void. I hid from the emotions, I hid from the world, and time passed by.

To the passer by, this ‘before’ picture is of someone who is merely ‘overweight’, but for me that was the physical manifestation of the stuff you can’t see.
-The low self-esteem.
- The pain
-The self-medicating with alcohol because I didn’t feel confident, or believe I was interesting without it.
- The losing yourself in parenting and grief.
- The losing yourself completely.
-The conflict avoider, the people pleaser.

Fast forward a few years and you get the person in the ‘after’ photo

Yes I look fitter now, yeah I have abs, but they are just physical manifestations of a woman in her power. I’m not chasing abs, I’m not chasing a look, I’m now just chasing a life where I am rooted in self-belief and proud of who I am, and how much I’ve committed to my growth.

Here at SGC we promote living a healthy balanced lifestyle and we know that having a few wines or a cheeky Margarita 🍸 (Coach Mons @moorehealth_monique fav BTW) on the weekend is a part of life but remember you health has to ALWAYS come first. 💥

Let's delve into a few 🥂

Once you start drinking 🍺, It passes into your blood through the walls of the stomach and small intestine.
Traveling to all parts of the body including the brain.
It slows down your brain and affects almost all parts your body - affects the way you think, feel and behave.

The Good 💃🏻

🍇Social gatherings with friends and loved ones creating new memories and bonding (however you can very much do this minus alcohol)
🍇Celebrate achievements and occasions (hello wedding bells)

The not so good 🤕

🌵Decrease Sleep Quality – although alcohol may seem to help you fall asleep it inhibits you being able to get into a “Deep Sleep” preventing you from getting all the rest you need. While you are trying to sleep your Liver enzymes metabolize the alcohol during the night and as the blood alcohol level decreased you are more likely to experience sleep disruptions and decreased quality.

🌵Weight Gain – Alcohol is high in Kilojoules approx. 29 kj (7 calories) per gram but remember this is only in the alcohol its self it does not account for the additional flavour that make your drinks delicious – think of the soft drink, Juice ect you are using as a mixer or sweetener.

🌵Impact Mental Health – increase signs/symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Alcohol may also increase your chances of Heart issues, Chronic Disease (diabetes, cancers, liver failure...) Inhibit sexual performance, decrease fertility (especially in men sperm count and testosterone levels).

Although we all love a good time and having a cheeky night out, it is all about finding that balance and as a society it is also about changing the “Norms” of how we celebrate and hang with our people.

Don’t be afraid to suggest going for a coastal walk and a smoothie/ coffee as a way of catching up with a friend

Why do we run 3 of these FREE events for our clients a year 🤔

Well we simply LOVE watching our clients support each other and accomplish strength goals they never thought possible 💪

WE ARE SO INCREDIBLY PROUD OF THE CLIENTS THAT SHOWED UP, AND DID THERE BEST ❤

What we ask of our clients is
